The Rose Howard Scholarship Fund was established in loving memory of Rose Howard, a devoted educator, beloved sister, and woman whose life reflected service, compassion, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others.
For more than 37 years, Rose dedicated her life to education, touching generations of students through her work as a teacher. Education was more than a profession to Rose—it was part of her legacy. She understood the importance of encouraging young people, recognizing their potential, and giving them the opportunity to achieve excellence.
Rose passed away in September 2022, but the impact of her life continues.
Rose & Sparkle Night
Rose was a faithful supporter of our annual Sparkle Night, an evening created in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer awareness held a personal significance for Rose and our family, and she continued to show her support by attending and participating in this special event.
Today, Sparkle Night carries an even deeper meaning.
Each year, we gather for an evening of creativity, food, fellowship, awareness, and giving. Guests come together to decorate sparkling bras, hats, and other creations in recognition of those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
But Sparkle Night is also about what happens after the evening is over.
It is about turning awareness into action.
Continuing Rose's Legacy Through Education
Because Rose devoted more than 37 years of her life to educating others, it was only fitting that her legacy continue by helping another generation pursue its dreams.
The Rose Howard Scholarship Fund will provide scholarship awards to deserving students who demonstrate qualities that reflect the values Rose represented—academic excellence, determination, character, leadership, service, and a desire to build a meaningful future.
Each year, a student or students will be selected to receive a scholarship in Rose's name.
Our goal is not simply to provide financial assistance. We want each recipient to know that someone believes in their potential and is willing to invest in their future.
Every scholarship awarded becomes another chapter in Rose's story.
Legacy of Love & Light
Rose will also be honored during our annual Legacy of Love & Light Memorial Tribute, where we celebrate her life, her years of service as an educator, and the lasting impression she made on her family, students, friends, and community.
As part of this special tribute, we plan to recognize a deserving student with a Rose Howard Legacy Scholarship Award, creating a meaningful connection between the life Rose lived and the future of a young person striving for excellence.
Her work as a teacher may have ended, but her ability to educate, encourage, and inspire does not have to end.
Through every scholarship awarded in her name, her light continues.
